Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run & 1.75 Mile Walk

Location:
Race starts and finishes at the corner of Oregon Avenue and South 1^st Street in downtown West Dundee at the VFW Post 2298.

Parking Information:
West Dundee Downtown Public Parking on the South Side of Route 72 or on 1^st Street south of Oregon Avenue

About This Event
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Dundee Township Lions Club and the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce and their charities. Participants will be encouraged to donate used eyeglasses and/or a non-perishable food item to the race. These are the two primary charities of Lions Clubs International.

Pre-Race Day Packet Pickup

Packets can be picked up Starting Monday, September 8th - Thursday September 11th from 9 AM - 3 PM at the Northern Kane County Chamber Office located at 20 S. Grove St. Ste 101, Carpentersville

Tuesday September 9th 4 - 8 PM at the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce Office

Friday, September 12 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM
West Dundee Village Hall located at 102 S. 2nd Street, West Dundee, IL.

You can also pick up your packet on race morning starting at 6:30 AM.

Registration Fees:
$40 til day of Race (Check for early-bird pricing and discounts)
$20 for walkers

All registered runners and walkers, who register prior to August 10, 2025, will be guaranteed an official Lions Heritage Fest T-shirt! We expect that more will be available for sale after the race.


Race Morning Timeline:
Registration on race morning opens at 6:30 and closes at 7:45 AM. The 5K Run and 1.75 Mile Walk will start at 8:00 AM

Award Categories
The top three females and top three males will be awarded as well as top three in each of the following age groups (male & female)

9 & Under
10-14
15-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70 & Older

Awards and Post Race Party
All awards will be presented at the post-race celebration hosted at the West Dundee VFW located at 117 S. 1st Street, West Dundee. (Same location as start of the race) A free beverage as well as bananas and granola bars will be available for runners that attend the party. This event will begin at approximately 9: 15 am.

Water Stop
A water stop will be located along the race at the 1 and 2.4 mile marks. Water will also be available near the start and finish line.
