2k walk/5k race raises support for nonprofit and community causes
RUN FOR IT is a 2k (1.2M) walk and USATF- certified 5k (3.1M) race around the scenic mountain town of Davis, WV during Leaf Peepers Festival. Raise funds and awareness for community organizations, projects, nonprofit agencies, educational activities, and charities located within the Foundation’s service area. Speed is not required to win.

Race Sponsors - Race sponsor donations fuel the race and support charitable causes. Race sponsors receive maximum exposure throughout the campaign. Build the Purse!
Merchandise Sales - Click REGISTER and follow prompts to purchase merchandise without registering for the race. Merchandise can also be purchased along with race registration. Merchandise sales will not be available after September 1.

Rules
Race Rules
- 2k walk only means just that – no running. One foot must always be on the ground. Course marshals have the final say.
- Walkers, runners, wheelchairs and strollers are permitted. Other wheeled transport is not allowed.
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short leash and must be picked up after. No other animals, please!
- Dogs cannot register for the race. FIDO is welcome to run or walk but cannot register as a team member.
- Banners used on site in conjunction with the Run For It event must be pre-approved by Tucker Community Foundation; no exceptions.
New Rules
- Runners with dogs line up at the back of the pack or get DQ’d.
- Entries are not transferable. Bib switching will result in DQ.
Team Rules
- Teams must register by July 1st. Minimum of 5 team members on race day to qualify for team awards. Teams should not represent multiple causes.
- All solicitations for team sponsor support must state: Funds are being raised in support of [ Team cause ] for the Tucker Community Foundation Run For It event.
- Participants must not provide any goods or services in exchange for a sponsor’s contribution.
- Participants may send letters to sponsors detailing the event and requesting donations, but may not use the TCF logo.
- Team sponsor donations must be postmarked by September 15.
- Cash awards must benefit the region served by TCF. Proceeds from entry fees and team sponsor donations may be used outside the TCF service area as long as it supports the team’s cause as it is stated on the team registration form.

Merchandise Sales
If you'd like to purchase a T-shirt separate from race entry click on REGISTER and choose T-shirt Purchase Only as the event type.
There will be a limited number of t-shirts available on race day.
With respect to merchandise sales: Tucker Community Foundation is not responsible for merchandise (t-shirts or other) that is not picked up on race weekend. Mailing is not an option, sorry!
