The B.R. Ryall YMCA will host The Y Run 5K and Super Kids Runs in celebration of healthy living and social responsibility.
Our USATF-certified 5K is open to everyone—from seasoned runners to individuals completing their very first race. It doesn’t matter if you run or walk the course; the Y Run is about promoting a healthy lifestyle and being active with your family, friends and community!
Kids can put their speed to the test by running the 1 Mile Run or Super Kids Fun Run and cross the finish line just like the 5K competitors. Kids are encouraged to dress up in costumes or whatever makes them feel like the Super Kid they are! All participants in the Super Kids Fun Run will receive a cape!

Packet pickup and timeline for race morning
Pre-race packet pickup will take place at the B.R. Ryall YMCA at 49 Deicke Drive in Glen Ellyn on Thursday and Friday, May 17-18, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Race Day registration will open at 7 a.m. The 5K race will start at 8 a.m., the Super Kids 1 Mile Run at 8:45 a.m. and the Super Kids Fun Run at approximately 9:15 a.m.
Proceeds from The Y Run 5K
As a nonprofit organization, the B.R. Ryall YMCA OF Northwestern DuPage County is dedicated to strengthening our community through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Proceeds will provide scholarships to our neighbors in need--affording access to the Y’s important programs and services including child care and camps; sports, arts and science enrichment; swim lessons; and health and wellness offerings including fitness, sports and recreation.
Award Categories
Medals will be awarded in the following age group categories in the 5K: 14 & under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80 & over. In addition, overall male/female winner in the 5K will receive an award. All participants in the Super Kids 1 Mile Run will receive a medal, and all participants in the Super Kids Fun Run will receive a ribbon and a cape.
