ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge

Join us on April 15, 2023 for the 11th Annual

ABC/25 GET BURBED CHALLENGE!

Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk fundraising event. Join students, staff, families, friends and neighbors and move to raise money for education!

Thanks to the past support of our community and local businesses the event has raised over $100,000 over the course of nine years to benefit the teachers and students of District 25. Each year, there are about 700 participants in attendance representing 9 schools, in which over half of the runners are students.

Since 2018, ABC/25 has partnered with Get Burbed, a local D25 family-owned real estate firm. In return for their long-term financial support of the foundation, they have been granted naming rights to the ABC/25 Challenge.

Where the money goes?
All proceeds benefit the ABC/25 Foundation, an independent nonprofit volunteer organization that raises funds for innovative learning initiatives that are not otherwise supported by district funds. The Foundation will use proceeds from this year’s event to provide funds for educational enhancements to District 25 through special teacher and school grants.

Registration Fee Details

Early registration rates are available for all online registrations on or before March 17, 2023. All early registrations are guaranteed a technical race shirt and the option for race packet delivery to a D25 school.

All Fees are non-refundable.

All Children under 10 must be accompanied to the event by an adult as childcare is not provided. Parents can walk, run or cheer on their children.

Want to run both races? Sign up for a combo registration to get chip timing for both races.

Individuals with disabilities should notify South Middle School if they require special assistance or services. Please give the building staff 24 hour advance notice. (847) 398-4250.

Awards

Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, male and female, for the 5K overall, 5K age divisions and 1 mile age divisions. The breakdown of age divisions can be found at: https://abc25challenge.org/awards/

Results will be announced at the Wellness Fest on race day at the conclusion of the 1 Mile event and posted on our website after the race.

Volunteers

WE NEED YOUR HELP! You can also participate in the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge as a volunteer! Student and adult positions are available and volunteers receives a complimentary race shirt! To see the available volunteers positions and register, please visit abc25challenge.org/volunteers.
