I would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU so much for your interest in supporting our community by running, walking, donating or any combination of those things! This event is very near and dear to my heart. My mom was a huge advocate for both fitness and community. She walked every single day, rain or shine, for decades! Walking was her outlet, her exercise, her therapy. My mom also gave back to the community in so many wonderful ways over the 46 years she lived in Buffalo Grove. Sadly she passed away earlier this year. It has been a struggle to come to terms with this immense loss that has affected not just myself and my family but the entire community. It is an honor for me to continue her legacy of fitness and community by putting on this event. I hope she's proud. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I also want to send a huge THANK YOU to Jen Pontikes for helping me put this together. Jen organized the 2018 Earn the Bird 5K and I could not have done this without her knowledge and support.

Thank you again for participating! Below is the schedule of events along with some pertinent info. Feel free to share this to anyone else that is looking to kick off their Thanksgiving with a grateful heart! With so much turmoil going on around us, let's bring positivity and happiness to our community!

7:30am - Registration opens at Maplewood Park for packet pickup

8:15am - 1 mile fun run for kids 14 & under (parents may join; only kids will be timed)

8:30am - 5K for all participants

Parking is available in the Maplewood Park lot just off of Clay Ct (access on Hazel)

Custom beanie hats are guaranteed for the first 200 registrants!

Awards

All 1-mile participants will receive a medal.

Top Three Overall Male and Top Three Overall Female will be recognized.
