The Lowell 5K Run/Walk started in 1997 as a school fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, honoring former principal Dr. Rosemary Murphy.
In 2025, the Lowell PTA will host the event, but direct all proceeds to Cammy Can +International Rett Syndrome Foundation to benefit from your participation.
The race will start/finish at Lowell Elementary School. Participants will enjoy a timed, flat, double loop course through the neighborhood.
Post-race refreshments will be provided for participants.
The top finishing student in each grade level will receive a first-place medal.

Strollers are welcome but will start in the back. No dogs, rollerblades, scooters, or bikes allowed. Dogs are not permitted at the race or on school grounds.
RACE SHIRTS
Lowell 5K Race Shirts are available for purchase when you register by April 10 for the race. Shirts are not included with your registration fee.
RACE PACKET PICK UP
Race packets and T-shirts may be picked up at Lowell Elementary School on:
Friday, April 25th: 3:00pm-5:00pm
Pre-race check-in is MANDATORY to receive bibs.
Race results will be available live during the event.
Day-of-race registration will be available from 7:00-7:30am but we strongly recommend registration to be completed prior to race day.
AWARDS
- Finisher ribbons will be awarded to all participants that finish the race.
- Overall 1st place male and female will each receive 2 free Parisi classes courtesy of B.R. Ryall YMCA.
- Additionally, awards to be given to the first-place boy and girl finishers for each grade, kindergarten through fifth grade
- After the race, head over to B.R. Ryall YMCA: show your finisher ribbon at the YMCA and you will be entered into a raffle to win a three month family membership. **must be completed on 4/26/25*

Cammy Can +International Rett Syndrome Foundation

Cammy Can is on a mission to raise Rett syndrome awareness and live life to its fullest.
Cammy’s family resides in the Lowell Neighborhood. Cammy was born with Rett Syndrome and she left a profound global legacy with her CAN-do-motto.
Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, confined her to a wheelchair and robbed her of physical abilities and speech.
Cammy passed away in December 2023 at the age of 14, but her legacy, smile and CAN-do-spirit will live on forever.
The International Rett Syndrome Foundation’s mission is to accelerate full spectrum research to cure Rett syndrome and empower families with information, knowledge and connectivity
