Shale Hill Adventure is hosting an Obstacle Training and Boot Camp Series for 2014 on:
* MAY 17 & 18 * JUNE 28 & 29 * JULY 26 & 27 * SEPTEMBER 13 & 14
You will be training from 9 am to 2 pm both Saturday and Sunday. Whether you’re a beginner with no obstacle experience, an intermediate with some race experience, or an expert……THIS CAMP IS FOR YOU!! Over the course of the weekend, you will have an opportunity to train with different experienced Obstacle Course racers who have been in the trenches and will be able to advise you on proper technique for a successful racing experience! All participants are required to bring their own food and any special hydration (we will supply water). The camp will teach you how to train for an Obstacle Race as well as obstacle technique, nutrition and strength training.
You will start out with a trip around Shale Hill's FAMOUS 5K & 10K obstacle course with over 50 obstacles and challenges! During this time we will get to know you, evaluate your ability level and come up with a training plan for you! This camp will be taught by Rob Butler, Heather Powell, Jason Moss, and Randy Feeley. With this group of coaches, we have every base covered (and then some)!! Please contact us at (802)537-3561 or at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Any participants under 18 are required to have a waiver signed by parent or legal guardian (camp is for 14 y.o. and up). Plan on being outside for the entire weekend!! We will have a 1/2 hour lunch break around noon and will wrap each day up around 2pm. We may go a little longer than 2pm, so be prepared!! This is going to be a hands on course, you will get muddy, tired, scraped, cut , bruised, wet feet, etc etc etc….but, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!! We are here to have fun while giving you an edge over your competition!!
Cost for the camp is $175 for both days / $100 per day. Lodging and food is not included, but lodging information can be found on our website www.shalehilladventure.com.
What to bring?
This is an OBSTACLE training camp! You will want to make sure you bring a change of clothes and apres shoes for after your run. There is a wash down station available after your workout. You WILL get dirty, muddy, sweaty, etc! We recommend you have light trail running boots with an aggressive tread. We will have a limited selection of ICEBUG footwear available in our store for OCR, hiking, orienteering, adventure racing, trail running, and walking. We cannot guarantee that we will have your size available if you were intersted in purchasing, so be sure to contact us ahead of time to place an order. If you give Jill Butler at Shale Hill a heads up about 10 days before camp, she can try to have your size available when you arrive. Please call at 802-537-3561 or ShaleHillAdventure@aol.com.
