"We apologize for the inconvenience. the race that was originally scheduled for May 4th, 2014 has been postponed and we are currently working on a new date for the 2014 race. Please look for updates very soon!!
This event was created by Lorraine Yaslowitz in memory of Jeff Yaslowitz, Tom Baitinger, and Dave Crawford.
Lorraine and Jeff often ran together and competed at local races. That, combined with Lorraine's desire to memorialize Jeff in a positive way, to thank the Tampa Bay community for their support during this tragedy, and to thank police officers everywhere, motivated Lorraine to create the Partners For Life Police Appreciation Run.
Using the proceeds from the Inaugural Police Appreciation Run two years ago, Lorraine created the Partners For Life Foundation to offer needed support to families who lose loved ones due to senseless acts of violence.
The foundation's first donation of $2,000 was made to the family of Matthew Little, the security guard killed just hours after our Inaugural Police Appreciation Run in 2011.
Since then, the Partners For Life Foundation has offered moral and financial support to eleven other families across the state of Florida. In addition, the Foundation provided a sizable donation to help with construction of the Heroes of St. Petersburg Police Memorial located at Demens Landing, which was dedicated in October.
All proceeds after direct expenses from this race will be presented to the Partners For Life Foundation to further its mission as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Shirts for new entrants will be available at packet-pickup on a first-come, first-served basis.
USATF Sanctioned
Races are sanctioned and insured through USATF for runners, joggers, and walkers ONLY. Registered walkers with strollers will be allowed to walk each of our courses, starting 2 minutes after each race. Athletes with strollers are NOT allowed to start at the same time as any of the timed races.
Headphones and Ipods
Headphones of any type are now allowed at USATF sanctioned events, but are discouraged due to safety concerns, not only during the actual race, but as importantly, while athletes are training in an uncontrolled environment. Individual races may impose their own regulations, but we don't, as it would be nearly impossible to enforce.
Fitness Walkers
Are welcome in all of our events and encouraged to participate. Walkers in our 10K and 5K Race expecting to finish slower than a 20-minute per mile pace may be asked to walk on the sidewalks so that roads can re-open to traffic.
10K and 5K Awards
Male and Female overall (three deep), masters (40+) champion and grandmasters (50+) champion
We are also offering a Law Enforcement Officer division for sworn officers. Top 3 male and female LEOs in both the 10K and 5K will be recognized with special awards.
Age group awards offered three deep in standard 5-year increments in each race.
