Event Details

The Race to Remember is an excellent 5K and 1 mile fun run event that serves as the largest annual fundraiser for Hospice of Marshall County! In 2015, we will celebrate our 10th year, and we are adding COLOR to our traditional chip-timed 5K race! We are excited to "Celebrate Life with Color" on March 7th! Each race registrant will receive 2 complimentary packs of color to use in our color celebration before and after the race. No color powder will be thrown by race volunteers during the 5K, but you may certainly arrange for your own "color blasts" throughout the course!  Run or walk in memory of a loved one!

All participants for the 1 mile that are 18 years and older.

Fundraiser ONLY

Course Description

The Race to Remember course is a closed-course, well-supported, family-friendly 5K through downtown Albertville and surrounding residential area.  This fast, relatively flat, USATF Certified course begins and ends at the Albertville High School Coliseum.

During the race, water will be available.  Before and after the race, rehydration & snacks will be available. Afterward,participants can also enjoy a waffle bar from Waffle House! Participants can expect well posted directions throughout the course as well as a host of volunteers ready to cheer them on!  Medical support will also be available on site during the event.

After the event, we will have a party awaiting you at the finish line!  We have vendors, door prizes, entertainment, snacks and more!

COLOR- this year, all participants will be provided 2 packs of colored powder to throw during our beginning and ending color ceremony!  No color will be thrown on the route, although, we will allow you to provide your own "color tossers" if you'd like!

The "Draft map" below is just a prettier version of the certification map, so please don't be alarmed by the words "draft".

Want to rally friends, family and coworkers to support your passion for Hospice of Marshall County?  Want to do more to provide compassionate care for your friends and neighbors that need quality end-of-life care?  We'll give you tools to build your own Web page, send emails, set fundraising goals, collect donations and acknowledge your supporters. And all of the funds you raise help provide support to patients with life-limiting illness and their families.

Current Fundraising Contest

The Race to Remember is the largest fundraiser for Hospice of Marshall County. We strongly encourage participants to ask for support from friends, family, co-workers, etc. not only because it helps raise more money, but also because it helps us educate more people about who we are and what we do!  We use incentives (like doorprizes-- raise $5 to be eligible!) to help encourage our participants to raise money! Participants will have until March 31st to complete fundraising. Fundraising awards will be given at our Wrap Up Awards Party, to be held at Santa Fe on April 23rd from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Each month we have a sponsor who provides an awesome prize that we can offer as a reward.  Check out THIS month's contest below: 



Awards Ceremony will be held at the coliseum beginning at 9:30 a.m. All participants who raise or donate $5 and are present will be eligible for valuable door prizes donated by local retailers.

The following awards will be given out at the ceremony:

- Top 3 Male and Female finishers in each age group 

(0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+)

- Overall Top Male and Top Female for 5K ($100 cash prize)

- Overall Top Male and Top Female for 1 Mile Fun Run (Trophy)

- Largest Team (team with the most members)

- Best Dressed Team (team t-shirts are strongly encouraged)

- Leading Fundraising Individual and Teams in each category (Corporate, Family/Friends, and Church/Organization) will be recognized
