Swan Lake Marathon

Each race will start at the Swan Lake Christian Camp overhead sign on the Swan Lake Christian Camp campgrounds. The finish will be marked with flags near the camp bell. You will be invited to ring the bell to signal your finish.

Packet Pick Up
Packets will be available for pick up from 2pm until 6pm on Saturday, and 5:15am until race time on Sunday at Swan Lake Christian Camp.

Weather
Average temperatures for June - Lows in the upper 60's, Highs in the lower to mid 80's.

If there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado watch/warning in effect, we reserve the right to cancel the marathon for everyone's safety.

Food
An evening meal of spaghetti will be served at the camp on Saturday between 5pm and 6:30pm the night before the race. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under 3 years and under are free. You can reserve your place by sending your check with your registration specifying that you would like a meal ticket, adding it to your online registration, or you can get tickets when you pick up your packet. There will also be a lunch served starting at 10am after the race on Sunday for participants and families. Sunday's meal is free will donation. Monies raised during the Sunday meal will go towards camper scholarships. Please use the donation tab on the left to make a donation. This makes it possible for kids to come to camp that wouldn't be able to otherwise.
There will also be water and Gatorade available at the finish.
Please contact us if you have any special dietary needs for the Saturday supper or the Sunday meal. (Vegetarian, Ciliac, etc.)

Awards
Marathon and Half Marathon - Awards will be given to overall winners and 3 places in the age group categories. Age groups are in 5 year increments, i.e. 20-24, 25-29. Overall and age group awards will be mailed after the race. There will be t-shirts and medals for each participant in the marathon and 1/2 marathon.

5.3 Mile Race - All 5.3 Milers will receive Swan Lake Christian Camp shirts and a ribbon.

Swan Lake Christian Camp is located in southeastern South Dakota.
From Sioux Falls, 19 miles south on
I-29, take the Hurley/Davis exit (HWY 18 west), 15 miles west to HWY 19, then 3 miles south, and
1 1/4 mile west.
OR 3 miles north and 1 1/4 mile west of Viborg
OR from the Junction of HWY 81 and 18, 15 miles east, 2 miles south and 3/4 east.

There will be some lodging available at Swan Lake Christian Camp. Call the camp for prices (605) 326-5690. Please indicate whether or not you are willing to share a room. There are motels in Beresford, Freeman and Sioux Falls, SD.
