RACE DAY REGISTRATION will be available: Adult $80, Youth (17 & Under) $40.

The Mystic Sharkfest will be a 1500 meter swim from Middle Wharf at Mystic Seaport, down the Mystic River and under the famous Bascule drawbridge to finish at Dock D at Seaport Marine next to Red 36 Restaurant. This swim will give you the perfect excuse to visit a classic New England seaport on Long Island Sound. The swim course will take you past the fully restored whaling ship, Charles Morgan and around the Mystic Harbor lighthouse and down river through the picturesque village. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this small town that is steeped in shipbuilding history. Mystic Seaport is the nation's leading maritime museum. Its collections and exhibits include over 500 historic watercraft, a major research library, a large gallery of maritime art, a unique diorama displaying the town of Mystic as it was in the 19th century, a ship restoration shipyard, the Treworgy Planetarium, and a re-creation of a 19th-century seafaring village. You will also want to visit the Mystic Aquarium where you can actually pet the sharks...the perfect conclusion to your Sharkfest weekend.

PLEASE NOTE: This swim is not for novices. This event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. You should be able to swim one mile comfortably in a pool in under 40 minutes.

ATHLETE CHECK-IN: Athlete Check-in is from 6:30-7:45AM at the Tom Clagett Boat Shed inside Mystic Seaport, where you will have your hands numbered with your race number and pick up your swim cap. You can view additional RACE DAY DETAIL ONLINE HERE.

WATER TEMP: ~72-74° F

COURSE CUT-OFF TIME: 45 minutes

INCENTIVES: T-Shirts for all participants. Sharkfest Swim Medals for top three finishers in each age group (wetsuit & non-wetsuit scored together in ONE division). Personalized award plaques will also be mailed to the first place finishers in each age group (wetsuit & non-wetsuit scored together in ONE division).

ENTRANT LETTER: An entrant letter with all the race day details will be emailed to all registered participants and posted online here 1-2 weeks prior to event day. Please check back for any updates and the full race day itinerary.

PARKING: Free parking is available at Mystic Seaport.

CANCELLATIONS: Registrations are non-refundable. If you can no longer participate in this event, you may receive a rollover credit (minus a $20 processing fee) toward a future event as long as you let us know by June 11 2015. After that date, a doctor's note is required to receive a credit.
