Panther Powder Run

A FUN, family friendly event for all ages. You may run or walk a 5K or 2 miles. Each participant will be given a color pack to throw and celebrate the fun. There will also be color stations along the course, in which volunteers will be throwing color in the air. You may finish the event with a rainbow of color adorning you!

All funds benefit the Siloam Springs Panther Track Teams.

Powder Run Q&A

What is the color made of?
The color powder we use is custom manufactured and produced right here in the United States. It is made from food grade quality cornstarch. It is non-toxic, is 100% safe, and also biodegradable. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs. If you are overly sensitive, you may want to wear glasses or goggles for your eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for your mouth. (This is especially recommended for our younger runners/walkers).

Can I run with my hamster? Of course (not)! Hamsters and other pets are not eligible to participate in the Panther Powder Run.

Can I bring a stroller or wheel chair? Absolutely!

Will the color stain my clothes, shoes, or makeup? If you want a lot of color to hit your shirt, plan to run/walk closer to the color throwers. If you want only a little bit of color, run or walk in the farthest lane from the throwers. If you want to preserve the color in your shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it before you wash it. The color does mostly wash out after the event, but some of it can stain. As with anything, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting the color on.

Will the color get in my car? Dusting yourself off after the run will remove a lot of the Powder. Bring a towel or some plastic bags along, and you’ll be just fine. However, if you do get some in your vehicle, it can be dusted away or vacuumed easily.

Are there any refunds? Unfortunately, it’s impossible for us to offer refunds. You can still pick up your t-shirt on race day.

What if it rains? We will still run in the rain. Rain will actually make the colors brighter. However, in the case of severe weather, we will postpone for a few minutes. If severe weather persists (tornado, downpour, lightning), we may have to cancel the event. No refunds will be made.

Can my friends and family come and watch? Yes, they are more than welcome but be sure to let them know that they may come in clean but the chances of them leaving that way are slim to none.

Can I bring a camera? Off course! This will be a fantastic photo opportunity. Make sure you keep your camera clean and away from the powder though. We recommend you put your camera, ipod, iphone, or any other electronic devices in a plastic bag.

Is the race hard?
No, that’s no fun! Many people will walk. We are a fun race with lots of color opportunities, and we have lots of fun not racing! The Panther Powder Run is the best way to be crazy with friends, family, or imaginary people. You won’t be timed, so there is no pressure to hurry and get ‘er done. Come bask in the colorful world we have created for you!

Can I Walk?
Walking is totally acceptable here at the Panther Powder Run or Walk. You will be one of many who will be walking. We don't time the race and it is non-competitive, so you won't feel any pressure.

Can I wear costumes?
You bet! We love costumes! The whiter the better!

What should I wear?
You can wear whatever you want, but we suggest white clothing, because it shows up the color the best!
