Our daughter, Leah, was diagnosed with epilepsy just this past December. Prior to the diagnosis there were emergency room visits, tests and doctors visits. Most nights were sleepless while watching, listening, and tracking seizure activity. We were so overwhelmed and how were we to explain to Leah and her little brother that everything was going to be OK when we didn’t know what was going on? Finally on December 12th 2015, a Neurologist gave us the news “Leah has Epilepsy”. At least now we had a diagnosis and could move forward. So today we try to digest this new challenge, adapt to this life change, and learn as much as we can to help Leah live a happy, healthy, and as normal a life as possible. We feel one great way to show our support for Leah is to do what we can to help her and other kids with epilepsy.
