Help Laurie raise money

I am running for Victim Services Toronto. I am honoured to be part of this team for another year. Such an important and needed organization. Being a Toronto Police officer, we work closely with our Victims services. They play an essential role in helping the survivors. Victim Services Toronto provides services to 20,000 people each year. Our services help victims in the immediate aftermath of crime and sudden tragedy with crisis counselling, locating and arranging services, and resources to address immediate needs such as accommodation, transportation, food, to name a few. Approximately 75% of the people we work with are victims of gender-based violence including intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic Victim Services Toronto has received a 30% increase in calls for help from women escaping dangerous and violent situations with their children.
