My Story…
A special friendship formed at the crossroads of municipal bond trading and compliance, spanning 15 years and 1500 miles, has me running the Falmouth Road Race this August for my third time.
My many visits to Falmouth, Massachusetts introduced me to the family and friends of Ryan Richards. Like me, Ryan would be 47 this year. We both faced a difficult cancer diagnosis; I had a luckier outcome. In August of this year I will celebrate five years cancer-free. Running for Ryan is how I will show my deepest gratitude.
The Ryan Richards Foundation was created to honor Ryan Richards, who died at age 40 from NUT Midline Carcinoma in October, 2015. As Ryan put it, “I ran every road race as fast as I could, because if I paced myself, I wouldn’t be able to make up the time later in the race." With no surprise, he lived his life the same way. In an effort to harness his positive energy and to keep his memory alive, we created The Foundation.
