Elite Closed
At approximately 35 km in length, the Elite Challenge is the most physically demanding course in the Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival. This challenge requires participants to paddle both the Mattagami and Mountjoy Rivers and incorporates one 100 metre portage. Kayak carts may be used but will not be supplied. Carts will be available for purchase. Open to all age groups, 3-4 hours estimated duration. Boat Restriction of 10.65:1 ratio.

At 6.5 km in length, the Open Challenge takes place on the Mattagami River only. There will be no portages in this division. You may enter the Open Challenge even if you have participated in other divisions. Open to all age groups, 45 minutes to an hour estimated duration. Boat restriction of 10.65:1.

Novice Closed
At 5 km in length, the Novice Challenge, which takes place on the Mattagami River only, is perfect for those who kayak casually or are new to the sport. There will be no portages in this division. Open to all age groups with less than 3 years of kayak paddling experience, 1-2 hour estimated duration. Boat restriction of 14'4" and under.

Arts and Culture Routes Exhibitor Registration - For Profit, Access to Electricity Closed
This applies to exhibitors selling goods or services from the park or promoting a product or service for profit. Each exhibitor will receive a 10' x `10' space and must provide their own tables and chairs. Displays must be professional in appearance and staff/representative must be present for the duration of the event. Note that this option provides electricity at an added cost of $15.00.

Experienced Hearts Division 3-Person Kayak Sprint Event - ADULT Closed
To keep the competitive teams on the edge of their kayaks, the Experienced Hearts division will be chasing the glory of cash prizes and trophy for best time overall. There will be certificates awarded for Team Spirit, as well as Best Effort. Those teams entering this category will have had experience competing as kayakers in the past and aren�t afraid of �a little competition!� Experienced participants also have the option to fundraise and will be recognized formally for their efforts. CASH PRIZES FOR EXPERIENCED DIVISION WILL BE BASED UPON REGISTRATION NUMBERS - 1st Place: 30%, 2nd Place: 15%, 3rd Place: 5% - Percentages are based on the number of boats in each sub-category.
