Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame

The Windsor / Essex County Sports Hall of Fame (WECSHOF) is a non-profit sports heritage organization committed to celebrating and sharing the rich local sports heritage and culture of Windsor and Essex County.

Through the encouragement of excellence, enhancing awareness, showcasing heroes, and inspiring healthy lifestyle choices, WECSHOF is focused on leaving a legacy to empower generations to come.

Since 1979, WECSHOF has sought a permanent venue from which to reach out and engage the public. That dream is now a reality at the new downtown Windsor International Aquatic & Training Centre, thanks to a solid partnership with the City of Windsor and other generous project partners.

This new central “home” will emphasize education, interaction, and community collaboration. It will nicely compliment the WECSHOF satellite sites presently at the WFCU Centre and Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex.

Phase one of the “WECSHOF Home Project” is near completion. An over-sized glass display case, containing the cherished and unique possessions belonging to our inductees and their families are on display in a climate-controlled environment.

Other elements, yet to be completed, include:

• A Hall of Fame Inductee Wall

• Interactive Terminals and Video Screens

• A Partner / Donor Recognition Wall

• A Community “Art and Sport” Piece

• A KidSport Windsor Area (WECSHOF’s youth charitable arm).
