Join us again for another great run through an awesome park with a challenging course that exemplifies the life of a single parent! Single parents face overwhelming barriers to overcome poverty and become self-sufficient. With the economy being what it is, a college education is crucial and almost required for the low-income single parent family to succeed. This course will be both downhill and uphill, pavement and trail, and one that will be sure to challenge you just as these parents are challenged! It’s a run / walk event so come out whether it’s your first 5K or you are trying to set that PR!
Proceeds from this event will benefit H.O.P.E, Inc. (Helping Other People be Empowered) which is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving single parents and their families working to obtain a college degree and break the cycle of poverty. Letter from HOPE
H.O.P.E, Inc.’s annual “We Found HOPE” 5K run will be held on October 11th, 2015, and we are seeking your support to help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 for single parents working to obtain a college degree.
Single parents face overwhelming barriers to overcome poverty and become self-sufficient. With the economy being what it is, a college education is crucial and almost required for the low-income single parent family to succeed. Our mission is to empower, encourage, and equip low-income single parents to obtain a college degree, develop essential life-skills, and ultimately became self-sufficient. With funding sources being scarce, we realize that if we want to continue to provide vital support for our single parent students, we have to gain support at a local level.
As a Runner of our 5K event, you have the opportunity to compete for a cause, as well as, be a positive influence on the lives of driven single parents and their children. Very few people can say they have impacted a life positively, just your participation impacts the quality of live and education single parents and low-income children receive.
We appreciate you choosing to run with us, and implore you to inspire others to support your efforts by donating on your behalf. All proceeds from the Run are directly used to fund direct programs of our single parent students. Each tax-deductible contribution to the event is assured to make a difference not only in the lives of those we support, but in the community.
We look forward to running with you!
