We are excited to announce an even more challenging and fun bike course and will use the same run course as last year (the new challenging single loop of 5.08km). Our bike course has also changed this year to deal with road closures, pot holes and paving / repair schedules on base. We re quite happy with the new loop, which offers pothole free pavement throughout the length of the course and has less intersections to cross through and a significant portion where the road will be closed to all traffic except cyclists! The swim will be in the indoor 25m pool, with wave starts as it has been in past years. Please indicate your accurate swim time when registering so that you can be placed in an appropriate group. Juniors will start first, beginning with the first wave at 0830, and adult waves will start at 0900.
Race kit pick-up will remain open throughout the morning and each racer will need to be signed in at least an hour prior to their wave start (individual relay will be emailed out the day before the race).
The base gym has changerooms with showers and lockers available. Transition will be to the west side of the gym and will remain open throughout for competitors to arrive before their waves and rack their bikes. Be aware that the area will be controlled to avoid possible collision between racers and those showing up late to place their bikes in transition.
This year s bike course will be 3 laps on paved roads around the base. All intersections will be controlled and the course will be well marked. Traffic should be negligeable on a Sunday morning, but all racers should stillbe aware of their surroundings and keep an eye out for vehicles.
The run will be a 5.08km continous loop on a mixture of gravel trails in a wooded area, and paved shoulder adjacent to a closed road. There will be a water point at the 2.5 km point.
Trophies will be presented to the overall top 3 male and female racers in the Tri and top three finishers in each age category will also receive an award.
Make sure you stick around for the awards presentation and draw prizes after the race!
Please include your estimated 750 meter swim time in order to be placed in the correct heat with athletes of a similar speed.
