ALPHA Pregnancy & Parenting Support, founded in 1980, is a nonprofit organization providing support and practical assistance during pregnancy through a child’s first year throughout San Luis Obispo County.

By supporting women, children and families during the delicate and critical period of pregnancy and early parenthood, we enhance the family’s capacity to thrive. ALPHA’s free services include comprehensive case management for families from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, support groups, a rental deposit loan program, support for Postpartum Depression, parenting classes, car seat education and installation, and necessary items for pregnancy and child care, including maternity and infant clothing, prenatal vitamins, formula and food, diapers, equipment and more. ALPHA is actively involved in community public health initiatives supporting education on healthy pregnancies and early childhood development. ALPHA’s main office is located in San Luis Obispo, and operates in 5 additional satellite offices throughout the county. By providing a wide depth and breadth of services to clients throughout San Luis Obispo County, ALPHA’s services strengthen families and inspire hope and possibility for our children.
