JOIN THE 'GET READY TO RUN' CLUB
2016 Get Ready to Run! “Couch to Cubby Chase” or “Reach for 6.2”
The Get Ready to RUN program consists of weekly coached workouts in a supportive environment, designed to safely improve your health, enhance your fitness, and prepare you to complete the Cubby Chase 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) on July 30, 2016. You will train in a group setting and receive individualized weekly suggested workouts so you can reach your goal and the finish line!
Head coach Stephanie Bolster holds certification by the USA Triathlon & YUSA and has over 10 years coaching experience. The beginner program is designed to guide you, starting out with walking, and building into running and completing your first 5K road race. For experienced runners who can complete 5K distance, the “Reach For 6.2” program will help you build endurance and improve your performance to take the next step to run a 10K.
The program begins Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 6 PM and runs every Tuesday, from 6 – 7 p.m. for 8 weeks at Lakefront Park in Geneva: June 7,14,21,28 July 5,12,19,26
Cost is $60 which includes registration to participate in the Cubby Chase on July 30, 2016. Employees of Finger Lakes Health receive a $30 discount on the Get Ready to RUN program which includes registration for the Cubby Chase 5K or 10K event. To obtain the discount, Finger Lakes Health employees contact the Human Resources Department for the Promo Code.
All participants will receive a team t-shirt.

OUR 5K COURSE
Mile 1: Start at Geneva General Hospital behind the Child Care Center and west up the hill on North St to the intersection of Castle St.
Mile 2: Left hand turn on to Castle St. and “fly” downhill (your reward for running up that hill), you’ve completed 2 miles once you pass Brook St.
Mile 3: Proceed on Castle St. until a left turn on to Oak St. Nice and flat to muster up your final “kick”. At the end of Oak St., turn right on to North St. Now, you’re back at the hospital entrance, turn left on to Mason street and sprint to the finish!
OUR 10K COURSE
Mile 1: Start at Geneva General Hospital behind the Child Care Center and west up the hill on North St to the intersection of Castle St.
Mile 2: Left hand turn on to Castle St. and “fly” downhill (your reward for running up that hill), remain on Castle street to Pultney St and turn right. Pass Saint Stephens church and the former DeSales High School. At the intersection of Washington St. turn left to Pultney Park. Stay right as you run the cobble stone circular drive around the Lady of the Lake fountain, turn right on to South Main St.
Mile 3: For a short distance run WITH traffic on South Main St. over pass- stay on the right hand side of the street and turn right on to St. Clair Street. Enjoy Hobart & William Smith College’s historic buildings. At the bottom of the hill on St. Clair take a left on to Pultney St to where it ends at Jay St. Go right on Jay St. up a short grade then quick left on to Kings Lane, Enjoy the shade and sculptures in a park like setting. Note the gorgeous Victorian Mansion that houses the College’s art department. You’re at the halfway point!
Mile 4: King’s Lane circles back to S. Main St. Turn left and run against traffic, heading north, back to the city. Note the beautiful view of Seneca Lake to your right. Just before you reach Lady of the Lake fountain again, you’re at the 5 mile mark. Stay on Main St. all the way back to Geneva General Hospital.
Mile 5: You’re on a nice gentle down hill heading into the down town area (catch your breath!). As you approach the divided portion of Main St., stay left against traffic. Your almost home! Turn right on to Mason St. in front of the hospital and put on your kick to the finish line!
