Andy Hammond, President and founder of Centurion K9 PTSD Service Dogs is living his own story of suffering with PTSD. As a first responder and former soldier, Andy has witnessed and experienced trauma in the course of his duties leaving him with severe anxiety, flashbacks, nightmares, isolation, depression, and more.  In looking for ways to cope, Andy sought healing and recovery by way of therapeutic animal support. However, that initial search was long, difficult and unsuccessful, with a two-year waiting list and a $20K price tag.

Centurion K9 PTSD Service Dogs rescues and trains canines to provide much-needed support for Ottawa area first responders such as police officers, firefighters, paramedics, correctional officers and active or veteran Canadian military service men and women, and their families.

Centurion K9 PTSD Service Dogs is federally incorporated and functions as a not-for-profit corporation. Every dog (a rescue dog) is placed with a foster family and trained until matched with a partner. The new and deserving partner bears no cost for this service.

By pledging a 9RUNRUN walker/runner you help, First Responders and dogs, so please help us save human lives and canine lives together.
