My Story…

My brother and I are running O'Connell's Run started in honor of our cousin Emmett who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when he was 6-weeks old. CF is a chronic progressive disease that effects the lungs and digestive system. There is no cure for it, it's life-threatening -- the average life expectancy is in the mid-30s -- and it's expensive to stay healthy on the required strict medical, dietary and therapy CF regime. The CF Foundation reports the baseline cost is $43,000 a year. All proceeds from the run go The Cystic Fibrosis Center at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital where Emmett was first diagnosed and treated.The hospital uses the money to help offset the cost for those CF patients in financial need and to buy CF-related medical equipment. Any penny you can donate will have a direct, immediate impact on a CF family. I hope you can join me in helping better a CF child's life. Thank you!
