My Story…
I’m Karen, also known as Mama G! I am a proud mother of four with a love for dance and a tenacious drive to help children become the best they can be!
I am originally from Yorkton, Saskatchewan. I attended the U of S where I earned my Dental degree and also met my husband, Blair. In 1995, with a family in tow, we moved to Red Deer.
With my last two kids off to University, it was with a resounding “yes” that I agreed to be a coalition member of the CACAC. I vowed to do what I could, with the hopes that one day it would emulate the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre in Calgary. The impact of suicides of teenage friends on our family and on our community has been far reaching and has motivated me to participate wholeheartedly in this inspiring project. When asked if I would dance in the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off I agreed --- and so I dance in honour of all of our children!
