My Story…
Hi all, as some of you know, I joined the Oakland Triathlon club and have been working on my swimming skills, even purchased a wet suit, in hopes to complete my first triathlon. Since I was young, I have watched the Ironman Kona championship event and moved by the sight of people of all ages, The Iron Nun is the most inspirational, shapes and sizes, experience and drive and have always aspired to compete in a triathlon.
So the time has come, as I just registered for Barb's Tri in Healdsburg, July 22, 2017. The event is a women's triathlon that raises money for people with a cancer diagnosis. What a better way to remember and honor my sister Gabby, who lost her battle to cancer August 2012. I'll swim (freestyle, doggy paddle), bike and run with her and all of you in mind.
