The Popeye's ® Durham Quarter Marathon (DQM) presented by Progressive Nutritional Therapies is Canada's original 1/4 and 1/8 marathon event. The DQM, est. 2005, boasts a unique “out-only”, net downhill route along the scenic creeks and waterfront vistas. The exciting finish area celebration will be held once again at Lakefront Park West.
The 2017 #runforothers raised $25,000 to help local homeless and street youth at The Refuge find a renewed hope for the future and the tools to reach their full potential!

Race Policies
Definitions:
Race events include the quarter run, quarter walk, eighth run, and eighth walk.
Participants include walkers and runners in both the quarter and eighth events.
Strollers
Strollers are permitted on both the quarter and eighth race courses. Participants with strollers must begin the race behind the group of participants in the respective race event as described above.
Dogs
Participants are permitted to participate with leashed dogs on both the quarter and eighth race courses. Dogs must be on a leash. Those running or walking with dogs must begin the race behind ALL participants in the respective race events as described above.
Participants who would like to bring their dogs should consider the potentially high-stress environment that a large group of people gathered in the start line area may create for a dog. We ask that out of respect for others, please maintain a comfortable distance from congested areas and individuals. Please do not run with a dog in the kids fun run event.
Accessibility
The race course is fully accessible. Wheelchairs and other aiding devices are welcomed in all race events.
For participants with wheelchairs or other aiding devices, please consider the level of competition and position yourself in the start line group accordingly. We ask that more leisurely participants please lineup at the start line behind runners.
There are accessible parking spaces available to those who require such services.
The Durham Region Transit bus is accessible.
Cancellation
The race will occur in all types of weather, including rain. There will be no weather cancellation barring extreme weather types such as thunderstorms or natural disasters.
