This a “Fun Series” for canoes and kayaks, SUPs and Surf Skiis. It is in three parts, allowing paddlers to see three different parts of the Shubenacadie River.
Choose any or all of the sections.
June 17 is a 9 km. familierization tour on the upper river. From the new canoe put-in at 71 Green Road in Lantz, paddle to the canoe accessible dock at East Milford. A shuttle bus will be available.
July 1 is a similar paddle from the put-in at 1705 Highway 2 in East Milford to the ballfield in Shubenacadie, but it is 3 km. longer and the current is a bit faster. A shuttle bus will be available.
September 2 is 39 km. in length but the current runs fast so it should take less than 4 hours. There will be safety boats to make sure you arrive in Maitland before the tide starts to come back in. Food, prizes and swag will be available for all. Shuttle bus available.

Additional Information
Canoe to the Sea is a recreational canoe and kayak paddle for families, held every year on the Shubenacadie Canal and waterway. In 2017, the event is in THREE stages. DAY ONE on June 17, will follow the meandering upper river for 9 km. from the new canoe put-in at Lantz to the dock at East Milford. DAY TWO on July 1 will pick up there and follow the middle river, and all of its switch-backs, for 12 km. to the ball field in Shubenacadie. DAY THREE on Sept. 2 is the premier event stage with the start in Shubenacadie. It follows the outgoing tide for 39 km. to the village of Maitland on the Bay of Fundy.
