Proceeds from the 2016 MoRun have been allocated locally to Bluewater Health’s Prostate Cancer Clinic. By allocating the funds locally to the Prostate Cancer Clinic, the race, its participants and sponsors, are making a difference for so many men in the Sarnia-Lambton community. 

Ontario’s survival rates for prostate cancer have improved dramatically over the last 10 years yet the number of people living with cancer in Ontario continues to increase. One in eight men will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime, making it the most common cancer to affect Canadian men. 

Bluewater Health’s Prostate Cancer Clinic treats approximately 1,500 patients each year and the focus of the clinic is on comprehensive and personalized prostate cancer care.The clinic brings with it a coordinated focus on timely assessment, treatment and surveillance, patient and family support, and education, particularly in the areas of physical, emotional and sexual health. Other services offered include biopsy, active surveillance, radical prostatectomy, hormone treatments, and chemotherapy. Most importantly, the clinic provides patients with top notch cancer care, close to home.
