Love on Wheels

Based in Franklin, Tennessee, Love On Wheels (L.O.W.) is a nonprofit organization that assists children entering the foster care system by providing them suitcases and toiletries. State children services agencies work tirelessly to provide all the care fiscally possible to these deserving children, but unfortunately, the reality is that resources are limited. Being removed from the only family they have ever known can be an enormous upheaval. The transition can be both emotionally challenging and frightening, and many children must be moved between multiple foster homes. We commonly take things like our suitcases and possessions for granted and these often get lost or damaged during their moves in foster care.

Love on Wheels’ mission is to offer a message of love and hope by providing each child with a proper suitcase of their very own to protect and show the value of the children and their possessions. Each suitcase is also packed with some of life’s basic necessities to help ease the loss and transition phase of foster care. L.O.W. has a vision of helping foster children not only state-wide but also nationally and globally in the future. Love, dignity, respect, and compassion for children know no boundaries.
