What is a VIRTUAL RUN & how does it work?:
The CCB TYB Virtual 5k run/walk is designed primarily to serve as a means of engaging, educating and empowering the lbind/VI across Canada alongside their family and friends to TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE!!
We want to promote being active for life and what better way then to create a challenge that will connect blind and sighted, to come together, train, motivate each other and ultimately complete a 5k run or walk. It may be your first or your 100th, but the excitement is in learning what is possible with proparation, motivation and fun!!

Train along with others from around the country “virtually” by watching and learning from TYB’s weekly “Learn to Run” Facebook / Youtube videos…
Engage with Ryan, your FREE resources, coach, trainer, to ensure you are preparing well and ready to rock on November 4th!...
Complete the 5k wherever you live, but do so virtually, alongside all other participants across the country…
Feel the pride and sense of accomplishment from going the distance!!...
Oh ya, possibly win some cool draw prizes as well!!
It’s simple, is fun, it’s engaging and it will motivate and inspire you to set further goals to keep you moving on your path to health and wellness
Distance:
-5km run or walk
-time your own race if you so choose
Start Time:
12 noon EST / 9am PST
*We encourage you to start exactly at these times, as everyone will then be running/walking “together” regardless of where you live.
Location:
VIRTUAL- Participate from wherever you live! Hop on a treadmill, the local track, a nearby popular walking/running path, anywhere you feel safe and comfortable!
We highly encourage you to get a group of friends together, register and start “virtually” at the appropriate start time that correlates to 12noon EST. We hope to have a large number of people run/walk simultaneously, no matter where in the country you live
Registration:
-$10
-print off your bib number and proudly wear it on race day
-Registration closes at 12 noon EST, for any last minute people interested
-There will be NO ON SITE registration/exchange of money, ALL registration must be done online
Awards:
-Once you are done your run/walk, you can submit your finishing time to Ryan at info@ccbtrustyourbuddy.net. Once all times are submitted we will email everyone a link to Results where you can print off your finishers certificate!
-ALL racers who submit their finish time will be entered into a draw for various door prizes (which will be mailed to you if you are the winner)
-Draw will take place on Facebook LIVE on “CCB Trust Your Buddy” facebook page on the evening of the event
Proceeds from the event:
All entry fees will go directly to supporting the blind/VI across Canada by staying in the CCB TYB program. The money will go to assisting individuals with purchasing equipment, memberships, creating educational / program material and anything that will engage, educate and empower the blind/VI to get active and live well!
