This will be my 4th year running in the FCRR. Over the past 3 years, I have raised $8,092 through the generosity of family, friends and colleagues! My connection to the commitment to find the cure began over 30 years ago, when our daughter, Shauna, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Our lives changed overnight. Robert and I made a deal with Shauna at that time that we would help researchers find the cure and her responsibility was to look after herself as best she could. We both have kept our promises to each other and in fact, Shauna and Stephen presented us with the a very special gift – a beautiful baby boy, Sterling Bernard, who is my latest inspiration to run in search for the cure for his Mommy.
