This annual event, 5K In My Shoes is a walk, run, or roll race that promotes awareness of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the community, a healthy lifestyle for all participants, creates an atmosphere for positive self-esteem, allows individuals who are not ambulatory to engage in a sporting activity and creates a culture of access, inclusion and philanthropy within the community.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
7:30 AM: Check-in and registration opens.
8:15 AM: Check-in and registration closes. No late entries will be accepted. No exceptions.
8:30 AM: 5K race starts.
8:35 AM: 1K race starts.
9:30 AM: Awards and door prize drawings will begin. *This time may vary slightly depending on the amount of people remaining on the course.*
LOCATION:
Race is located at Envision, 1050 37th St. Evans, Colorado 80620.
REGISTRATION:
There are no refunds offered for any fees or registrations. Children may register at the same price as an adult. Children will receive the same shirt, race packet, and door prize entry as well as timing or opportunity for an award. Children that are in attendance but not racing (i.e. in a stroller) are no charge. Children that are in attendance must be supervised by their parent or designee at all time. RACE:
This is a 5K Walk, Run, or Roll; however, 1K option is available for the same registration fee. Parking is in front and back of the building. It may be windy and/or cold as this is an outdoor event. Please be prepared with appropriate attire. Restrooms are available at the race site.
ABSOLUTLEY NO PETS, ANIMALS OF ANY KIND, BIKES, SKATES, ROLLERBLADES, OR SKATEBOARDS.
TEAMS:
Participants may create a 5K race team that consists of five (5) total participants. Participants of the team will be eligible for a discount. Teams will be eligible for awards.
SHIRT:
Every participant will receive a free standard shirt as part of their registration. During registration, please verify that you choose your correct shirt size. Corrections need to be emailed to ballen@envisionco.org. If you do not pick up your shirt from Envision on or by May 31st, you agree to forfeit it.
RACE PACKET (AKA SWAG BAG):
Every participant will receive a race packet. This includes a variety of promotional items, notices, information and coupons from local vendors, sponsors and other community partners. If you do not pick up your race packet from Envision on or by May 31st, you agree to forfeit it.

SHOE CONTEST:
In order to support individuality among people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, participants are encouraged to decorate or wear "wacky" shoes. One (1) participant will be selected by Envision's 5K Committee to win a door prize for "Wackiest Shoes". Participants should use good judgment and wear appropriate shoes that covers heels and toes in order to prevent injury.
AWARDS:
Hand-crafted ceramic medals created by several of the artists that participate in Envision's Art Program will be awarded as follows:

- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Overall Team (Each team member will receive their own award.)

DOOR PRIZES:
Every participant is eligible to win. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event. Prizes in the past included a variety of gift baskets, sports gear, sports and event tickets, golf packages, adventure packages, gift cards, and more. These vary each year and we always strive to provide several great prizes! Your tab at the bottom of your bib number will be your entry to win door prizes.
COURSE:
This is a Walk, Run or Roll event. The course selected is wheelchair accessible; however, if you have any specific accommodations needed, please contact us as soon as possible. Five Star Timing, LTD will provide chip timing. Course has been certified by Doug Bell of Bells Running.
DRINKS/FOOD:
Coffee, bottled water, fresh fruit, bagels with cream cheese, and a variety of breakfast burritos will be provided. Note that not all diet needs may be accommodated. If you have allergies, feel free to contact Envision for a list of food options.
EMERGENCY MEDIAL AND INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN:
As this is an outdoor event, it is suggested that you plan to wear layered clothing so that you may be comfortable in any sudden weather changes.
Envision’s 5K In My Shoes race is rain or shine unless it is determined that race conditions are dangerous. This determination will be based on a careful decision made by race management and Envision's 5K Planning Committee in consultation with local safety officials.
Every effort will be made to conduct the race; if the race is cancelled there will be no refunds. Each participant must accept any such risk for their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as t-shirts, race packet, insurance, and online administrative fees. In the event of inclement weather, Acts of God, or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any or all portions of the race. The following procedure will be followed:
- The race director in consultation with local safety officials will make the final decision to delay, adjust or cancel the race.

- Communicated at the race venue via the PA announcing system
All of Envision’s personnel have been certified in Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Defibrillators and basic first aid are available. Volunteers will be instructed to contact 911 in the case of an emergency. In the case of an emergency, please dial 911.
CHECK-IN PROCESS:
Check-in begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 8:15 AM. Please be prepared to show identification for any credit card purchases the day of the race. Also, in order to ensure timing and record accuracy, we ask that you PLEASE DO NOT check-in for someone else on race day.
BIB/TIMING:
Both races will be timed by Five Star Timing, LTD. It is important that you do not exchange bibs with anyone else. The event is chip timed; therefore, you must cross the finish line pad to calculate your time properly. Please do not leave the course prior to crossing the finish line. If you have an emergency, please inform a staff member so that we can stop your timing.

Envision is the Community Centered Board (CCB) serving Weld County, one of 20 such entities in the State of Colorado. Every year, Envision provides case management and a diverse set of person-centered services that support more than 2,300 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or delays and their families in Weld County.
