ABOUT MILES FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS
I am a 29 year old adult living with cystic fibrosis. I am running the Big Peach Sizzler 10K on September 3rd to raise money for Miles for Cystic Fibrosis. I have been an avid runner for 8 years. However, cystic fibrosis has made running very difficult. As a runner, I am used to measuring distances in miles. Over the last two years, I have seen my lung function decline to the point that I was exhausted after covering the distance of just a few floor tiles in a hospital room. Thankfully, I am feeling much better now and I am able to be myself again. This is largely due to a new medication called Symdeko. That medication, and the research that went into developing it, was paid for by donations from people like you.
Miles for Cystic Fibrosis does a lot more than just help fund research into new medications and a potential cure for CF. It also helps Georgia families pay their medical expenses as well as helping to pay for the expenses as helping CF individuals be more active.
I'm participating in the Big Peach Sizzler 10K & 5K on Labor Day and raising money to help children and adults living with cystic fibrosis enjoy longer, stronger lives.
