What better time than the winter to best hone in on your triathlon skills for the upcoming season? We’ve put together a Professional Triathlete Coach and Physical Therapist/Running Coach to create an afternoon to focus on running and swimming.

Our Workshop Coaches
Jennifer Harrison (JHC) has been coaching athletes for 20 years. Jennifer coaches a wide variety of athletes from pure runners to Ironman athletes. She works with all levels of athletes from beginners to professional athletes. She is an accomplished triathlete winning area sprint races to participating in the Hawaii Ironman. Her love for swimming brings her knowledge to the pool for this workshop. Each athlete will be given attention to freestyle stroke and work with the group on a basic swim practice skills. Developing body awareness and pushing/pulling through the water in the most efficient and effective way will be discovered during the water sequence.
Denise Smith is the owner and operator of Smith Physical Therapy and Running Academy in Crystal Lake. Her continuous education in physical therapy and running techniques has made her the expert in this area. Specifically, she has mastered the art form of creating better runners through form analysis and developing new habits to help runners prevent injuries, improve their performance and efficiency.
Runner's High N' Tri Running and triathlon store in Arlington Heights owners Mark and Pom Rouse will be discuss shoe fitting and various shoe styles depending upon your running gait and needs.
The day will begin at 2 p.m. with check in and orientation at the Wheeling Park District Community Recreation Center (333 West Dundee, Wheeling). Half the group will go to the pool and half will work on running skills. Then they will switch mid-way through the afternoon. The group will wrap up with a Q & A
Items to bring: swim suit, goggle, towel, running shoes, running apparel, water bottle. *Cell phone/video camera for ‘potential’ videotaping. * TBD per amount registered.
