This annual celebration of open water swim just keeps growing. We are proud to be joining Canaqua Sports as part of an exciting across Canada series of aquatic events including the Sea Dogs Open Water Swim and the Saint John Swim/Run Challenge right here at home. This year there are some great new additions, events now include a 1-km swim a 3-km and 5-km swim.
All particpants will receive a finishers medal, bathing cap, post race snacks and post race draw prizes
Except in the Traditional races, wetsuits will be allowed unless conditions would make them unsafe.
There will be three age groups; 29 and under, 30-49, and 50 and over.
There will be prizes for the First, Second and Third Place Male and Female swimmers in each event and for the First Place age group male and female.
NOTE: When category numbers are low age group prizes may not be awarded
We will also be offering a SwimRun race in association with Canaqua Sports SwimRun Challenge. This race will be roughly 10-km in length
There will be a minimum of 3 swims and 3 runs of varying distances over the route with 1 mass start at the Beach. You will need to carry all your gear and equipment with you to complete the entire race. Flotation equipment is allowed, ie, floats, pull buoys, kick boards, paddles are all legal as you will need to carry or wear your running shoes while swimming and carry your goggles, swim caps while running. Equipment may not be discarded anywhere on the course and outside assistance is not permitted and there is no transition area. Team members are there to help each other as a safety feature so you must start together, swim together, run together and finish together.
This year we are also offering the option of doing the race as an individual, same rules apply but you are on your own.
The SwimRun is an "open" category event with prizes for the top team and top individual male, top individual female.
