My Story…
On July 7th, I will be participating in the 7th annual Katie's Run for Epilepsy in Haliburton, Ontario.
Here is my brief story: My little brother, Connor, experienced his first seizure before his first birthday in 1996, and was officially diagnosed with Epilepsy when he was 18 months old. After years of trying different medications and diets, we have found one combination that has brought the frequency of seizures down to 5 per day at most (prior to 2016 Connor was having up to 50 seizures per day). Connor has been waiting almost 6 years to be allowed to obtain a driver's license.. and on March 26, International Purple Day, Connor will write his G1 test! ... UPDATE: HE PASSED!
I hope for the day when no child or adult will need to endure the medical and personal battles that Epilepsy forces someone to fight.
I am running for Connor.
I am running for my family.
I am running to find an end to Epilepsy.
