As a mom, I am super passionate about ensuring children have good mental health. That doesn't mean that they are always happy, but it means they are safe, cared for, supported and encouraged to learn, grow, express themselves and their feelings. Unfortunately, MANY kids don't have that type of support and it exacerbates tough living situations, fuels illness, isolates them, creates deep insecurity, depression, anxiety, and other many other unimaginable difficulties. At Compeer, where I passionately work to support good mental health, we work hard to secure friendship matches for people who cope with mental health challenges. The challenges can fluctuate from mild to moderate, but through studies, and assessment, we know simply having ONE good friend or mentor, can make all the positive difference for someone. This race helps raise money for KIDS that are experiencing mental illness. By donating, you are helping to ensure mental wellness! That is priceless and truly changes lives.
