AthHalf 2018 is the 9th annual half marathon fundraiser for AthFest Educates, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting high-quality music and arts education programs for youth in Athens-Clarke County. The course highlights Athens's vibrant downtown, beautiful historic buildings, University of Georgia campus and the world-renowned music scene.
On Saturday October 20, 2018, there will be a Health and Fitness Expo from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM located at the Classic Center on Thomas Street in Athens. The AthHalf 5K will also take place during the race expo on October 20 at 2:30 pm.
The half marathon will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018 starting at 7:30 am. The starting point of the half marathon is in downtown Athens. The race will wind through downtown Athens, beautiful historic neighborhoods, and the University of Georgia campus. The race features all the sights that America’s #1 College Town has to offer in 13.1 miles. This race benefits AthFest Educates, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting music and arts education in Athens, Georgia.

Runners will enjoy a gorgeous autumn-time run through downtown Athens, the UGA campus (Go Dawgs!), past Five Points where energetic spectators flock and cheer as they drink their morning coffee, past the “Pumpkin Patch Church” and the gorgeous Greek houses, and of course through the historic Cobbham and Boulevard neighborhoods. And in AthHalf tradition, we’ll have live music throughout the course to keep you energized and having fun!.
Time Limit
The half marathon course has a four-hour time limit. All runners must be able to complete the course within four hours. The 5K has a one-hour time limit. All runners must be able to complete the course within 1 hour.
Runner Support
Runners will be well supported on the course with hydration stations, cheering fans, live music, and lots of fun.

Medals and Shirts
All 5k and Half Marathon participants will receive race day t-shirts, and all half marathons finishers will receive medals.
