Honorary Chair, Robert Basque, and the South East Sexual Assault Centre (SESAC) is challenging the men in our community to walk one mile through downtown Moncton in high-heeled shoes on May 25th, 2018 to step up against gender-based violence! It’s an ideal opportunity for men and boys of Southeastern New-Brunswick to get involved in a very concrete way against violence and sexual assault in the community.
This event raises awareness of the role that men can play against gender-based violence as well as funds for initiatives relating to sexual violence. Men and boys who will walk down Moncton’s Main Street in red high heel shoes are able to symbolize their intolerance towards violence and create a very important discussion about violence within the community.
Through April and May, men can sign up to complete Walk A Mile in Her Shoes® as individuals or as teams and gather pledges from friends and family to support their participation.
The funds raised will help SESAC reach its objectives. Show solidarity and get involved in this march. Join the movement to prevent, reduce and eliminate violence!
