MSGIRLS4ACURE info:
MSGIRLS4ACURE is a group of men and women that raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness and to help support those with Breast Cancer. Members of the group are either Breast Cancer Survivor's or have been impacted by someone close to them having this horrible diagnosis. This is our 10th year holding the Race for the Cure in our hometown of Brookhaven, MS. We hold this annual walk/run to raise awareness about Breast Cancer in hopes to one day help find a cure. The MSGIRLS4ACURE members have participated in eight of the 3-day 60 mile walks held yearly, around the United States, by the Susan G. Komen foundation (the3day.org), meeting men & women from all over who have been affected by Breast Cancer. Words can not express the impact that these people or this event has made in each of our lives. In the past we have donated all net proceeds from our events to the Susan G. Komen foundation; however starting in 2017, we now donate all net proceeds to The Pink Sisters (see more info section to learn more about The Pink Sisters). All proceeds from this walk go to helping others in Brookhaven or surrounding communities that have immediate needs after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We hope that you will join us in fighting for a cure, help us raise awareness and help support our local Breast Cancer patients.
The Pink Sisters info:
The Pink Sisters are a group of ladies consisting of Breast Cancer Survivors. They work tirelessly to support other women who have been affected as well. They help them with household expenses while undergoing treatments, buying prosthetics and wigs, transportation to chemo/radiation treatments and so much more. They also visit woman in the hospital that have had to endure either a lumpectomy or mastectomy, bringing them a gift basket and showing support. These women know how important it is to have someone to count on when they are having a bad day. They have all “been there and done that” and are always willing to help where they are needed, whether that's with basic financial support or just an ear to listen. They know what these Breast Cancer patients are facing and hope to help them thru these trying times.
