A fall challenge on character trails. Often muddy, wet and slippery. Two distances to choose from, with a classic climb to the summit of Stewart Mountain on the long course.

Fee Notes

- BC Athletics members are eligible for a $3.00 discount on advance entry fees. You will be asked for your membership number during registration. Join BC Athletics HERE. To look up your membership number check HERE.

Harriers Foundation
All race proceeds will be directed to Harriers Foundation projects. To date the Prairie Inn Harriers Running Club has raised over $320,000 towards Foundation projects in Greater Victoria including seven major scholarships and bursaries at UVic and Camosun College:

Location
Thetis Lake Park, Victoria, BC. Start and finish near main beach. Google map
Park in the main lot at the end of Six Mile Road, or cycle the Galloping Goose trail and park at the beach.
Distance
The classic long course is approximately 10 Miles (16 Kilometres) and the shorter course approximately 5 Miles (8 Kilometres). This cross country event is sanctioned by BC Athletics.
Course
Main and secondary trails of Thetis Lake Park featuring mud, rocks and water crossings over rolling terrain. The long course also includes a significant climb to the top of Stewart Mountain.
The courses may change slighty each year to include interesting new trails (race day conditions permitting). 2014 Map pdf
Courses will be well-marked, but participants are responsible for watching for directional indicators at all times.

Entry Fee
$30.00 early registration fee until September 1st, 2018, increasing to $35 after and $40 on race day. Substantial discount for PIH club members. Standard $3 discount for BC Athletics members. You can claim both is applicable. Stop and e-mail stewartmountain@pih.bc.ca if you're not seeing the discounts. No discounts on day-of-race entries
Registration
Please pre-register online, or by mail with a paper entry form. Do it early for the best rates. To avoid extra fees see Gary. Note: Online registration will close at 8pm Thursday, November 1st, 2018 and you can edit your registration information until then. Day-of-race registration at the beach is by cash or cheque only from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a cutoff 15 minutes before each start. Overall limit of 600 entries.
Package Pickup
Only on race day, Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Thetis Lake, start/finish area on the main beach.
Start Times
11:00 a.m. — early start for long course runners expecting to take over 2.5 hours. If you are new to the race, we suggest using your road half marathon time as a guide. Early starters who finish significantly ahead will be assessed penalty minutes and ineligible for awards.
11:30 a.m. — main start for the long course.
12:00 noon — start for the short course.
Amenities
Washrooms, change rooms, port-a-potties and tents at the start/finish area.
Locally crafted wooden finisher medals.
Warming food and beverages at the finish (save a disposable - bring your own cup or mug). hopefully way more to be confirmed
Massage and Physio
New this year will be Massage and Physiotherapy available for participants at the beach after their race. Provided by experienced and knowledgeable staff from Saanich Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic.
