Capital XC Challenge featuring the Jim Howe Memorial 6K Cross Country Race
Looking for a change of pace to your running? Join us for Ottawa’s largest cross-country run as leaves begin to turn. The Jim Howe Memorial X/C Race presents a challenging and unique 6K course within Mooney’s Bay featuring hay bales, a really big hill, the beach, grass and more!
It’s all part of the Ottawa Lions Track and Field Club’s annual XC Championships with athletes from local elementary and high schools competing along with a strong field of universities from Ontario and Quebec. Get ready to run cross-country! We’ll see you there!
The 6K course will be set in around the Terry Fox Athletic Complex and Mooney’s Bay Park. The surface will vary from grass/pavement/sand…..there will also be some gravel trails and obstacles along the way. You will finish on the track within the complex.
Please note: Athletes competing with Wheelchair – Due to the nature of the event, this race is not compatible with wheelchair racing or recreational participation.
