Race Day Details
June 9, 2019
Volunteers will check-in at the Volunteer Check-In Tent at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal - 9 Queens Quay West, Toronto - behind the Westin Harbour Castle at 7:00AM. You will need to be on the 8:00AM ferry across to Centre Island. A ferry ticket will be provided at volunteer check-in. It is imperative that you get checked in and receive your ferry ticket before ferry departs at 8:00AM.
Health & Fitness Boutique (Friday June 7th & Saturday June 8th)
Packet Pick-Up: Volunteers will assist with runners picking their bibs, shirts and other amenities up prior to race day.
Race Day (Sunday June 9th)
VIP/Volunteer Check-In: Positioned on the mainland, these volunteers will assist with Volunteer Check-in and VIP Packet Pickup.
Gear Check: Volunteers help runners check gear bags before the race and retrieve them after they finish.
Start Team: Volunteers will assist with the start of the race including organizing start waves.
Bike Team: Volunteer riders will ride the course ensuring runners stay on the official route and looking for any runner needing medical attention.A volunteer rider is assigned to lead the second and third place runners.
Race Pacers: Volunteers will pace for each of the following speeds: 5 min/km, 6 min/km, 7 min/km, 8 min/km, 9min/km, 10 min/km. Pacers get free race entry to the event.
Course Marshalls: Volunteers will help around the course, ensuring runners don’t miss important turns and stay on the official route. They are also on the lookout for any runner who may need medical attention.
Water Stations: Volunteers will hand water to runners. Volunteers will also help in the set-up and break down of the water station.
Finish Line Water: Volunteeers will hand out water to runners after they cross the finish line.
Finish Line Medal Distribution: Volunteers will work with models to handout out medals in an organized and timely manner.
Finish Line Refreshments: Volunteers will pour and hand out flutes of bubly to runners.
Post Race Food Distribution: Volunteers will hand out food as the runners go through the food tent, after crossing the finish line.
