My Story…
WATER!
I count on taking a sip every few miles of a warm weather run. I enjoy too-long showers. I do my best to drink eight glasses a day.
For others -- like handicapped children and their families in remote areas of Machakos County, Kenya -- water is life.
And so our #ImRunningWithEd marathon relay team is raising funds for a water borehole at Journey's Otunga Center for Children in Kenya ... water for the Center (so they no longer have to buy it), for irrigating their 4 acre farm, for their chicken project, and for overall sustainability ... water for life.
The cost of the borehole is about $30,000 ... engineering, surveys, permits, piping, electricity, drilling. A lot of money, but a small price for the many lives it will benefit in the years to come.
