Please read any waiver carefully. It includes a release of liability and waiver of legal rights and deprives you of the ability to sue certain parties. Do not agree to this document unless you have read and understood it in its entirety. By agreeing electronically, you acknowledge that you have both read and understood the text presented to you as part of the registration process. You also understand and agree that events carry certain inherent dangers and risks which may or may not be readily foreseeable, including without limitation personal injury, property damage or death. Your ability to participate in the event(s) is/are subject to your agreement to the waiver and by agreeing herein, you accept and agree to the terms of the waiver and release agreement.
WAIVER, RELEASE, and INDEMNIFICATION
In consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I hereby, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, waive and release all rights and claims for damages that I may have against: the City, Township, and Regional Municipality of Waterloo; Run Waterloo Inc.; and meet organizers, sponsors, charities, and all their respective agents and representatives, as a result of my participation in this event.
I further grant the Released Parties the right to photograph, record and/or videotape me and further to display, edit, use and/or otherwise exploit my name, face, likeness, Event/Activity results and standings (as more fully described below), voice, and appearance, in all media, whether now known or hereafter devised, (including, without limitation, in computer or other device applications, online webcasts, television programming, motion pictures, films, newspapers, and magazines) and in all forms including, without limitation, digitized images or video, throughout the universe in perpetuity, whether for advertising, publicity, or promotional purposes, including, without limitation, publication and use of Event/Activity results and standings (including but not limited to name, bib number, if applicable, age, times, if applicable, gender, city or “hometown”, or other standard Event/Activity results), without compensation, residual obligations, reservation or limitation, or further approval, and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties for any Claims associated with such grant and right to use. The Released Parties are, however, under no obligation to exercise any rights granted herein.
By submitting this entry, I acknowledge having read, and understood, and agreed to the above waiver, release and indemnification. If under 18 years of age, a Parent or Guardian's signature is required.

Transfers - Transfers are available for $7.50 through Race Roster only. The deadline for transfers for this race is September 1.
T-shirts - Any participant that signs up by September 8 is guaranteed a t-shirt in their selected size. To help with sizing, see our t-shirt guide.
Timing - This race is timed using Gun Time. Chip Time, where available, is published for informational purposes only, and is not used for results or awards. Time adjustments are not issued for occurrences such as marshal failure. Inability to complete the course for any reason will result in a disqualification. Time limits are strictly enforced.
Course - All participants are expected to know the course and assume all responsibility for staying on the course. That being said, Run Waterloo puts a sign at every turn and uses well-trained marshals throughout the course as appropriate.
Awards - Individual and team categories are final once the runner starts the race. Runners must cross the finish line to earn a finisher award. If not claimed at the event, award medals will be available at Runners' Choice starting on September 17.
Swag - Finisher awards (medals) are only for finishers of the half marathon. T-shirts must be claimed by the race start, otherwise they become property of Run Waterloo and will be distributed at the race to other interested participants.
Sport - This is a sporting event which involves inherent risk. The participant assumes the risk factors including but not limited to injury, training, and weather.
Cancellation - If this race is cancelled due to extreme circumstances (extreme weather, tragedy, or community emergency), there will be no refund. The only guaranteed restitution is the option to pick up the race shirt from Runners' Choice at a specified time. In any potential cancellation situation, utmost care will be taken to make the decision as informed as possible, and also to give participants as much notice as possible. Run Waterloo has cancelled only one race in over 40 years of operations, although we do acknowledge that weather will continue to become more extreme.
Photo/Video - The participant waiver releases rights to the use of the photos and videos. After the race, if you see a photo of yourself that you don't want published, please let us know and we can accommodate that request.
Privacy - Participant information will be treated with the utmost discretion. Email addresses will not be shared with any other party.
