We are looking forward to seeing you at our 8th annual It Takes Guts 5K River Run and Walk on Sunday, September 22nd! The event will be held in William B. Pond Park at the Cottonwood picnic area on the American River. All registered walkers receive an ITG t-shirt and a special award upon finishing the 5K. All entrants have the ability to create a team and raise funds as a team. All proceeds of our 5K go towards our Warrior Workshops, held monthly to support families of children with chronic illness, and for our annual Warrior Family Camp held at St. Dorothy's Rest in Occidental, California.
Packet pickup will be on Saturday, September 21st at R. Burnett Miller Park (McKinley Village Way) in Sacramento from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and ALSO from 8:00 a.m -9:00 a.m. on race day!
The pre-race Welcome begins at 9:00 a.m., runners will begin at 9:25 a.m. and walkers at 9:30 a.m.
The course begins at William B. Pond Park at the Cottonwood picnic area just west of the Harold Richey Bicycle Bridge (look for the red and white balloons!) on the paved American River Trail going west, continuing up onto the rock levy turning at Rio Americano High School as it drops you back around onto the paved trail and back to William B. Pond Park.

OUR VISION: Our vision is to create a community that enriches the lives of families through monthly support groups, financial assistance, and our annual Warrior Family Camp
OUR VALUES: Illness may affect our bodies, but we determine our mindset. Although it is a very personal journey, we walk it together. We live by the words "whatever it takes."
Thank you to our sponsors: St. Dorothy's Rest, REACH One Alliance, Lahlouh, CSAC and Guild Mortgage.
