- Register by clicking [VOLUNTEER] button (appears on right if desktop, or above if mobile device). System will prompt for a RaceRoster login or to create one.
- Pick a volunteer job from the drop-down menu (list shows the number of available openings for each job)
- Complete the volunteer form, and either click [Continue] or [Add Another Volunteer] to pick another job for you/another person (to remove any job, click <Remove Participant>; system will time-out if takes over 15 minutes to finish).
- After you continue and finish registering, click [Submit Order] and a confirmation email will be sent. Ensure therunner@raceroster.com is not going to spam.

Duties include: unpack volunteer T- shirts and organize on tables, put up signage, confirm online registrations and distribute shirts. |

Expo Information Kiosk | Prairieland Park Hall A 10 AM - 1:30 PM or 1:30 PM - 5 PM | Information Kiosk (the SRRA tent) will be near the Race Expo entrance. Help answer questions about the race or course routes. Prefer SRRA member or have marathon running experience. |
Expo Greeter | Prairieland Park Hall A 10 AM - 1:30 PM or 1:30 PM - 5 PM | Welcome and direct participants into the race expo area, also help answer general questions. Direct specific race questions to nearby information kiosk. |
Expo Set-up | Prairieland Park Hall A 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM | Help with setup of the Race Expo area. Assist exhibitors moving into designated booths. |
Expo Take Down | Prairieland Park Hall A 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM | Help with take-down of the Race Expo area and this year's 40th anniversary display. Assist exhibitors moving out, and help with general clean-up. |
Race Package Pick Up | Prairieland Park Hall A 10 AM - 1:30 PM or 1:30 PM - 5 PM | Help distribute Race Package and T- shirt to registered participants, based on bib number. Lists are posted by race to help find bib numbers easily. Direct any registration changes or issues to the nearby walk-in registrar desk. |
Race Package Pickup Leader | Prairieland Park Hall A 10 AM - 1:30 PM or 1:30 PM - 5 PM | Assist the RACE EXPO Captains to ensure volunteers understand duties, and help answer questions about this area. Must be over 17 years of age. |
Village Set-up Crew (Saturday) | Finish Line Village 1 PM - 4 PM | Help set-up the Village Start/Finish line area in Diefenbaker Park (St Henry Ave entrance). Duties include: put up fencing and signage, assemble start gate, pop-up tents, arrange tables, etc. Please indicate if any prior experience with this race or another. Training is provided. |
Expo Late Registration Table | Prairieland Park Hall A 10 AM - 5 PM | This exclusive group of Participant Registrars is pre-arranged; and will be contacted to register. Duties include: help participants with last day race registration or switch to a different event, etc. |

Aid Water Station | Marathon Course 7 AM - 1:30 PM | This public group will setup Aid Station, pour and hand out water, sport drink and energy gels. Keep surrounding area tidy and, then take down Aid Station. Exact location and time will be provided later. You might be combined with another station if necessary. |
Bike Marshal | Marathon Course 7 AM - 1:30 PM | Exclusive group of BIKE MARSHALS is prearranged, and you will be contacted to register. Patrol a designated zone to help participants on the course if injuries, notify aid stations of situations, ensure lead runners stay on correct route, etc. Zones and shift times are provided later, by the Bike Marshal Captain. Must be over 15 years of age. |
Course Marshal - Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble | Marathon Course 7 AM - 1:30 PM | Exclusively for Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble Volunteers. This group will help ensure safety of participants, and be supplied with maps and safety vests. Placed near key traffic areas along the course to help direct participants and vehicles. Exact location and time will be provided closer to event, by the Course Marshal Captain. Must be over 15 years of age (or accompanied by adult). |
Course Marshal - Saskatoon Roller Derby League | Marathon Course 7 AM - 1:30 PM | Exclusively for Saskatoon Roller Derby League Volunteers. This group will help ensure safety of participants, and be supplied with a maps and safety vests. Placed near key traffic areas along the course to help direct participants and vehicles. Exact location and time will be provided closer to event, by the Course Marshal Captain. Must be over 15 years of age (or accompanied by adult). |
Course Marshal - SSFA | Marathon Course 7 AM - 1:30 PM | Exclusively for Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association Volunteers. This group will help ensure safety of participants, and be supplied with a maps and safety vests. Placed near key traffic areas along the course to help direct participants and vehicles. Exact location and time will be provided closer to event, by the Course Marshal Captain. Must be over 15 years of age (or accompanied by adult). |
Course Marshal | Marathon Course 7 AM - 1:30 PM | This public group will help ensure safety of participants, and will be supplied with maps and safety vests. Placed near key traffic areas along the course to help direct participants and vehicles. Exact location and time will be provided closer to event, by the Road Marshal Captain. Some locations will need 2 people, so indicate who to place you with. Must be over 15 years of age (or accompanied by adult). |
Course Set-up Crew | Marathon Course 4 AM - 7 AM | Help place kilometer/mile markers, course signage, barricades and cones. Please indicate if any previous experience? Training will be provided. |
Course Take Down Crew | Marathon Course 11 AM - 2 PM | Pick up remaining supplies from Water Aid Stations. Remove kilometer/mile markers, course signage, barricades and cones. Cyclists are welcome to help! |
Finish Line Captain | Finish Line Village 7 AM - 1:30 PM | This pre-arranged individual will lead the Finish Line Support volunteers, and manage all activities in this area. |
Finish Line Support Team | Finish Line Village 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM or 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM | Help participants crossing the finish line. Duties include: area set-up or take-down, giving medals and blankets, pour and give out water, sport drink, and energy gels to participants. Also keep area tidy, and direct participants towards village area, parking lot or medical assistance if needed. |
Food Tent | Finish Line Village 6 AM - 9:30 AM or 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM | Help setup the Participant Food Tent with beverages and food, which can involve unloading items from storage truck. Also keep area tidy and distribute items to participants after their race. When event ends, pack up remaining food. Ensure access restricted to only participants (not for spectators and MaraFun kids have own food area). Must be over 14 years of age. |
Food Tent Leader | Finish Line Village 6 AM - 9:30 AM or 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM | Assist the Participant Food Tent Captain, to coordinate volunteers in this area, and help answer questions. Must be over 17 years of age. |
Information Tent (Sunday) | Finish Line Village 7 AM - 9:30 AM or 9:30 AM - 12 PM | Help answer basic questions from participants or spectators (having some race experience would be helpful yet not required). Provide extra safety pins for bibs, manage lost and found area, etc... This job is located in same tent with Volunteer Support and Bag Drop. |
Marathon Turnaround Marshal | Marathon Course 8:30 AM - 11:45 AM | Monitor which marathon course participants reach the north-end turnaround point (list will be provided, as well as a map and safety vest). Prefer you use own phone/camera to take picture of participant BIB number for confirmation. Exact location and time will be provided closer to event, by the Course Marshal Captain. Must be over 15 years of age. |
Participant Bag Drop | Finish Line Village 6 AM - 8:30 AM or 8:30 AM - 11 AM or 11 AM - 1:30 PM | Collect participant bags prior to races, label by bib number, and put in boxes. Then locate bag as individuals return to pickup, by matching bib number. Also help with the participant unused/unwashed shirt exchange for a different size (if available). This job is located in same tent with Information and Volunteer Support. |
Race Time Results Tent | Finish Line Village 8:30 AM-10:45 AM or 10:30 AM - 1 PM | Scan bibs with a portable hand device, as finished participants enter tent; and screen will display results. If technical issues, refer participant to get posted results from website. Also help keep the flow of people moving to avoid congestion. Shift overlap ensures a smooth transition, as this area gets busy. Training is provided. Must be over 15 years of age. |
Village Set-up Crew (Sunday) | Finish Line Village 5:30 AM - 8 AM | Help complete any remaining setup of the Finish Line Village area, in Diefenbaker Park (St Henry Ave entrance). Duties may include: fencing, pylons, signage, direct sponsors and participants looking for certain areas. Training is provided. |
Village Take-Down Crew | Finish Line Village 12 PM - 3 PM | After the Race Course closes, help with general clean up of the Finish Line Village. Also help load various materials onto trucks, take down tents, un-assemble the start gate and fencing, etc. |
Water Set-up Crew (Sunday) | Marathon Course 5 AM - 3 PM | Exclusive group of Water truck drivers (pre-arranged) to help deliver water jugs, supplies, and tables to various Aid Station locations. Driver needs to handle cube van (3-ton truck) and able to backup. You may also be asked to help on Saturday or Friday as required. |
Winner Circle Support | Finish Line Village 9 AM - 11:30 AM or 11 AM - 1:30 PM | Provide support to the Winner Circle Captain, during the various race award ceremonies at the Winner Circle Area. Shift overlap ensures a smooth transition during the awards. Must be over 14 years of age. |
