Approximately 22,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. 85% of those cases are diagnosed at a late stage where 5-year survivability is only 35%. There is no definitive early detection test for ovarian cancer. Early detection and treatment are vital to survival. The Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA) Education & Awareness and Community Outreach Programs are designed to share the risks and symptoms of ovarian cancer with as many people as possible so more women can be diagnosed in earlier stages.
