Hi! I've had chronic migraine since I was 11 years old. It's not just head pain; for me, it comes with changes in vision, sensitivity to light and smells, nausea, dizziness, vertigo, trouble thinking and speaking, numbness in the left side of my body, and pain in the rest of my body from even the slightest touch. There are about 36 million people in the US with migraine, and it can impact each of them differently. I have been lucky enough to have the help of headache specialists who trained as fellows at amazing headache research centers, be a patient at headache centers, and be started on the latest migraine medications as soon as they became available. Because of this, my condition is now well-controlled.
