"Shining Teal" is our team of family & friends to support a cause near and dear to our hearts. In September of 2003, our mother was diagnosed with stage 3B Ovarian Cancer. Her diagnosis changed our lives forever. She maintained an aggressive treatment plan throughout: de-bulking surgeries, countless chemotherapy sessions, rounds of radiation, however, in Dec. 2007, she became our angel. During the cancer years, Mom became a grandmother 3 times, watched her son get married, traveled frequently to visit family & friends, and took early retirement. Our family continues to honor & celebrate her legacy, while supporting others who are impacted by Ovarian Cancer. My mother's cancer paved the way for my genetic testing, learning that I was a carrier of the BRCA mutation in 2012. By May of 2014, I was officially a Previvor, after 4 major surgeries, numerous coupled with lifelong preventative screenings, reducing my risk, but ultimately to change history for my family!
